Traders Establishment
The Cataclysm & The War of the Lance
The current year for our Dragonlance campaign is set during 351 AC "After Cataclysm".
Inspired By Trampas Whiteman

The Trader's Establishment is one of the more important businesses in Ravenvale, serving as the village's primary source for everyday goods, supplies, and equipment. Though only medium-sized, the store is packed from floor to ceiling with crates, barrels, shelves, and cabinets containing a wide assortment of merchandise.

Travelers passing through Ravenvale often find themselves stopping here to replenish provisions before continuing into the surrounding wilderness, while local hunters, woodsmen, and farmers rely upon the shop for tools and household necessities. Despite its modest size, the establishment carries a surprisingly diverse inventory.

Clothing, lanterns, rope, cookware, preserved foods, hunting gear, and countless other practical items can usually be found somewhere within its crowded interior. Goods arrive irregularly through trade caravans and merchants traveling between the settlements of the region, meaning stock often changes from season to season. What cannot be found today may appear next month, while commonly needed supplies occasionally vanish from the shelves without warning.

Those seeking rare or unusual items may discover that owner Jelren Artson is willing to make inquiries through his network of traders and merchants. Given enough coin and patience, he can often acquire uncommon goods from distant settlements. However, Ravenvale's isolation means such requests are far from guaranteed. Exotic merchandise frequently arrives damaged, poorly crafted, or not quite matching the descriptions provided by those selling it. Veterans of the village know to inspect any special-order item carefully before parting with their hard-earned coin.

Jelren Artson himself is a familiar figure throughout Ravenvale. A practical and shrewd merchant, he possesses an uncanny memory for both customers and inventory. Though generally friendly, he is known for driving a hard bargain and rarely misses an opportunity to earn a few extra steel pieces. Beneath his merchant's instincts, however, lies a genuine concern for the village and its people. During difficult winters or times of hardship, Jelren has been known to quietly extend credit to trusted locals, understanding that a thriving Ravenvale ultimately benefits everyone—including himself.
