Smithy The Cataclysm & The War of the Lance The current year for our Dragonlance campaign is set during 351 AC "After Cataclysm". Inspired By Trampas Whiteman

From outside, this is obviously a smithy, though no sign hangs here. The shop part of the building is unwalled, and two brawny lads operate a bellows while a giant of a man hammers thunderously upon a piece of metal that will soon become the blade of a shovel. Soot and smoke abound.

The shop is ran by a man, Taero Fuirume who is always here working during the day along with his two sons.

Dragons of Sorrow "For 350 years, the world of Krynn has suffered under the weight of the Cataclysm. The wrath of the gods shattered the continent of Ansalon, burying once-proud empires and leaving the land scarred and desolate. In the time since, humanity has scraped by in the so-called "Age of Despair," a time of superstition, paranoia, and fractured societies. The divine withdrew from the world, and with them went true clerical magic. In its place, charlatans and false prophets emerged, twisting the memory of the old gods for their own gain.

In this age of fading light, a deep, pervasive dread has settled across the land like a suffocating shroud. Rumors and whispers of war brewing in the east, of towns mysteriously emptied, of the very air growing heavy with unease—have begun to circulate more frequently. The talk is grim, with merchants speaking of trade routes growing more dangerous by the day.

You have seen the signs with the once-familiar constellations shifting in the night sky. The whispers in taverns speak of things thought to be myth: winged horrors in the dark and armies of corrupted soldiers marching under the banners of a shadowed queen. The Seekers, who promised faith, now offer only fear.

Everyone holds their breath and exchanges worried glances, and the air itself feels heavy with unspoken anxieties and fear.

The message is clear: things are changing, and not for the better. The peace that everyone has taken for granted is fracturing, and some say the war is already here, a quiet tension waiting for the first drop of blood.

Old-School Essentials is a tabletop role-playing game that builds upon the core rules of B/X Essentials and Old-School Essentials (OSE) Classic Fantasy.

It incorporates elements and options from Advanced Dungeons & Dragons 1st Edition, such as additional classes, races, spells, and monsters, while maintaining the simpler, more streamlined rules of Basic/Expert "B/X" D&D.
