Prayer’s Eye Peak rises above the northern reaches of the Sentinel Peaks in Abanasinia, standing as one of the most recognizable landmarks near Solace. From a distance, the mountain appears as two colossal stone hands pressed together in prayer, their weathered fingers reaching toward the heavens. Travelers moving along the roads between Solace, Haven, and the surrounding wilderness often catch sight of its distinctive silhouette, which has inspired countless tales among plainsfolk, elves, and kender alike. The peak is considered both a natural wonder and a sacred place by many inhabitants of the region.

The mountain's most famous legend dates back to the Age of Dreams and the heroic deeds of Huma Dragonbane. According to tradition, the god Paladine appeared to Huma in the form of a great white stag and guided him through the wilderness near the peak. Centuries later, similar stories would emerge during the War of the Lance, when a mysterious white stag was seen leading travelers toward safety. Because of these legends, many pilgrims believe the mountain is touched by divine favor and that the gods watch over those who journey beneath its shadow. The slopes of Prayer’s Eye Peak are covered with dense forests of pine, oak, and autumn-gold hardwoods that cloak the lower elevations.

Narrow game trails wind through the woods, eventually giving way to steep stone ridges and treacherous cliffs. During the warmer months, locals from Solace often venture into the foothills to hunt, gather herbs, or simply enjoy the breathtaking views of Crystalmir Lake and the surrounding valleys. In winter, however, icy winds descend from the mountains, and the passes become dangerous even for experienced travelers.

Many stories attempt to explain the mountain’s unusual shape. One popular centaur legend claims that the mighty hero Peldarin cleaved the summit with his enchanted axe, Soulsplitter, creating the deep divide that separates the two stone "hands." Other tales insist the mountain was shaped directly by the gods during the creation of Krynn, serving as a permanent reminder that humility and faith are virtues greater than strength alone. Whether these stories are true or not, the split summit remains one of the most striking geological formations in all of Abanasinia.

During the early days of the War of the Lance, Prayer’s Eye Peak became an important waypoint for the Companions. Pursued by draconians and other servants of the Dragonarmies, they crossed the mountain while following the mysterious white stag. Legends tell that a hidden path opened before them and then vanished behind them, protecting them from their enemies. This event cemented the mountain’s place in modern history, transforming it from a local landmark into a symbol of hope during one of Krynn’s darkest eras.

Today, bards throughout Ansalon still sing of Prayer’s Eye Peak as a place where destiny and faith often intersect. The mountain stands silent above the forests of Abanasinia, its stone hands forever raised in prayer. Travelers who gaze upon it at sunrise often swear that the cliffs glow with silver and gold light, as though Paladine himself still watches over the land.
